ULAN BATOR, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia and Nepal have agreed to strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation in their first consultative meeting of the ministries of foreign affairs, the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement Thursday.
The two sides agreed to boost their cooperation in such areas as politics, economy, education, sports and tourism in the meeting in Kathmandu on Wednesday, the statement said.
The two sides also expressed their keenness to increase frequency of high-level visits between the two countries.
In addition, the two landlocked countries also expressed their desires to expand bilateral cooperation at the regional and international levels.
The second consultative meeting of ministries of foreign affairs between Mongolia and Nepal will be held in Ulan Bator in 2019, the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
