GAZA, June 14 (Xinhua) -- Israeli army on Thursday fired a warning shot at a group of Palestinians who were flying kites and balloons that carried fire bombs and Molotov cocktails in eastern Gaza.
Israeli media and Palestinian security sources said no injuries were reported.
The Israeli army said that its forces attacked a target in eastern Gaza which is an infrastructure for making Molotov cocktails.
The Israeli army said that launching balloons and kites that carry fire bombs and Molotov cocktails into Israel is "dangerous" and its forces will stop it.
Earlier on Thursday, members of a group which they named "the unit of the burning kites" said they will fly on Friday 5,000 kites and balloons carrying fire bombs into Israel as part of the peaceful activities of the march of return.
"We give the occupation's government a chance to lift the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip, and if it doesn't lift the blockade, we will make the Israeli settlement close to Gaza border living under burning kites and balloons," they said in a press statement.
The group threatened that they will act "on expanding the range of flying kites and balloons to 40 kilometers into their occupied territories."
Since the beginning of the Great March of Return in eastern Gaza on March 30, Palestinian activists have sent hundreds of kites and balloons carrying fire bombs and Molotov cocktails into Israel.
The Israeli media reported that kites and balloons landed on Israeli agricultural fields and caused huge fires.
On March 30, the Palestinians started rallies, protests and demonstrations in five separate locations in eastern Gaza Strip, close to the border with Israel.
Ashraf al-Qedra, the health ministry spokesperson in Gaza, told reporters that the death toll since March 30 has grown to 128 and around 14,000 were injured. Around half of them were shot by live ammunition, and many of them are still in critical condition.
