PARIS, May 26 (Xinhua) -- Brazilians Ana Paula Melilo and Mateo Reyes continued their adventure at Roland Garros as they won the junior wild card competition here on Saturday.
Winners of the wild card competition, Melilo and Reyes each clinched a wild card for the main draw of the junior singles tournaments, which will take place from June 3 to 9 on the courts at Roland-Garros.
During the final phase, Melilo defeated China's Cao Xue 7-6, 6-2 and India's Shrivalli Bhamidipaty 7-5, 6-4.
Meanwhile, in the boys' tournament, Reyes won successive matches over India's Siddhant Banthia 6-3, 6-3 and China's Zhou Xinmu 6-4, 6-2.
The final phase was contested by three girls and three boys under the age of 18 from Brazil, India and China.
These young players earned their place in the final by winning the qualifying rounds on clay in their home country, in Brazil's Belo Horizonte, China's Nanchang and India's Delhi.
