RAMALLAH, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs Riad Malki slammed Saturday the obstruction of issuing a final statement after the UN Security Council over the Gaza events by the United States.
Malki told Xinhua "we were sure that Washington would obstruct any effort at the Security Council with regards to the massacre committed and will continue to take place by Israel."
Malki said that after the U.S. thwarted the issuance of a statement by the UNSC, this would "clarify to those who continue to bet on the American role in the Arab region that Washington is totally biased to Israel."
The UNSC failed Saturday to reach an agreement on a final statement over the event in Gaza after 15 Palestinians were killed and over 1,200 injured by Israeli forces during Land Day rally at the border between Gaza Strip and Israel on Friday.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas held Israel totally responsible for the events on Friday.
